halloween 2021 x 2

it’s a party! bikes and uniforms getting into characters of that most streamed tv series on the planet. art extrapolating life and life role playing back to art? creepy and scary, not for appearance, but people willingly role play a dystopian scenario and most probably not reflected on the injustices depicted.

halloween 2021

in hong kong, at this particular location wanchai, it looks rathter like a crowded children’s festival with parents busy running around taking pictures of their kids. do you celebrate / go partying when this make-up / dress-up / funky from the bottom-up festival lies on a weekend?

planned obsolescence

of a hitachi fridge dated 2007. it worked tirelessly almost non-stop for 14 years. the company has good record keeping with the service department. it located the fridge’s model and year of service just with the phone number given over a decade ago. unfortunately with the hefty fees of hk$400 for a technician come for a visit, excluding additional fees, plus hk$ 600 transportation fee if the fridge needs to be repaired at their service centre, my mom and i decided to purchase a new fridge for hk$ 25k. why there isn’t more incentive for cheaper repair/maintenance options for a company with good products? just another case of capitalism beats environmentalism?

shue yan university 樹仁大學

shue yan was a college (post secondary) for many years. it seized on the opportunity to "upgrade" when the government said yes after years of review of its programmes. in a city where reputation matters more than real strength in attracting potential students and sponsors and donars, that was a milestone for alumni, faculty andstudents alike. nested in braemar hill, a posh residential neighbourhood dotted with high rise flats and a few k-13 schools, shue yan is a vantage point looking down the buzzling metropolis. they had a new graduate/reasearch tower recently completed during my very first visit. would you like a campus emvironment like that for your uni?
